Offshore Wind China 2010, the Asia’s premier offshore wind energy event which is launched in 2007, is to be held on June 2010 in Shanghai again. It is the only event featuring on offshore wind energy which is co-organized by Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC), Chinese Renewable Energy Industries Association (CREIA) and Shanghai International Exhibition Co., Ltd (SIEC)
China possesses 1,000 GW reserve of exploitable wind energy (250 GW on land 750 GW off shore). With the advantages of comparatively low cost and existing conditions for large-scale exploration, the development of wind energy is currently the best option for China’s energy strategy. China’s coastal provinces, where are rich in economy but short of energy, have the ambitious plans for offshore wind farms.
