Salvors have attempted to split the hull of the MSC Napoli in two using explosives. First reports indicate the operation was a success.

The vessel grounded in January on the English North west coast. Earlier attempts to refloat the vessel had failed.

It is not clear what will happen with the different pieces of the ship.
