Svitzer wins contract to salvage capsized Grimaldi ship in Antwerp
March 13th, 2007Svitzer Salvage has been awarded the contract to salvage the container ship “Repubblica di Genova” which capsized last week in the Verrebroek Dock during loading.
Many containers and cars fell overboard and got stuck between quay and ship. The salvage operation will probably take several months. Meanwhile, the turned ship has become a big attraction in the port of Antwerp.
